GENERAL Q and A

How do I get started?

You have already made a good start by finding the AAA Auction webpage and by reading these FAQ’s. The next thing to do is call us at (763) 421-3044. If you simply need to drop off some items for us to sell for you, we will schedule a time for the drop-off. On the other hand, if you need us to make a pickup or perhaps do an online estate auction or a clean-out at your home for you, we will then likely ask you to send us some photos. This will give us a general idea of the size of the job and the type of items you would like us to sell for you. We will then phone you and schedule a meeting at your home.

What types of auctions do you do?

AAA Auction does live auctions, online estate auctions and online consignment auctions. We also do clean-outs and we purchase partial or full estates outright as well.

How much do you charge?

Our fees depend upon whether you bring your items to us or we come and get them. Our fees also depend upon whether we sell your items as part of one of our regular consignment auctions or whether we hold an online estate auction just for you at your home.  Thus, it is not possible to give a blanket answer to this question, so the best thing to do is give us a call to discuss how we can best serve you. Whatever you choose, AAA Auction is always very competitive in our rates.

Where do your auctions take place?

Our consignment auctions take place at our auction barn in Nowthen. We also hold full online estate auctions at our clients’ homes and sometimes we rent a location such as the Coon Rapids VFW, the Anoka County Fairgrounds, or the Medina Ballroom to hold an auction.

How do I get my things to you?

You can bring your items to us or we can come and pick them up.

What are good items to sell?

A good place to start learning about this is our "What items sell?" page. There you will find lists of items that seem to sell well and items that generally do not sell well. You can also review many of our past auctions on our website to see the high bid amounts on the items we sold.

What happens to my items that do not sell?

When folks drop off items at our auction barn, we go through them and try not to accept any consignments that we think will not sell. If we are doing an auction at our client’s home, we usually get everything sold by grouping the low-value items together. However, if there are leftovers, we can dispose of them for our clients by recycling and donating as much as possible.

Can I put a minimum price on something I want to sell?

Yes. That is called a reserve. We accept reserves on items so long as the reserve amount is at least $300. Also, if the item fails to meet the reserve, then we then charge $20 ($40 for guns) or 1% of the high bid, whichever is more.

What is your experience?
